     Four Flags of Freedom welcome all visitors at exit 56 on I80 and greet them as they travel to our county seat, Princeton .  As travelers continue on to visit all of our communities, they will discover we have a lot to offer.  Visitors enjoy our historical attractions, culture and arts.  They take part of Shakespeare in the Park hosted by Festival 56 and dine at several of our outstanding dining spots.  Sports and recreation including the 100-mile Hennepin Canal which is part of the American Discovery Trail and offers 96 miles of fishing pleasure..  

     Rich in tradition, rich in history, is what you will find in Bureau County .  As you experience the local festivals, you can imagine the visionaries and entrepreneurs who left their mark on the very fabric of our communities, located in northwestern Illinois .

     Our communities are easily accessible off Interstate 80, head north, south, east or west and you will find simple pleasures and hidden treasures in Bureau County . Bureau County is located in North Central Illinois 115 miles southwest of Chicago and 65 miles east of the Quad Cities on Interstate 80.
